If anyone wonders why all the pictures for this month have red in them. The colors for July are red, green and russet(an orange/red). Then I read somewhere that the birth color for July is coral blush. Who is the person or committee that makes these decisions? I didn’t see any free picture I liked with russet colors in them. Flowers are nice and I never go wrong with flower pictures. I found red ones and some with red and green in them.

Last week’s was interesting. The writing goal word count is less than 5000 words because I took two days off. Sunday July 4th and that Monday July 5th, I had to recover after the barbecue. I noticed that a correction needs to be made on that Monday’s update. I have no excuse. Since there has been some difficulty with writing the romance novel. I’ve been reading or listening to contemporary romances. To get inspired and see where my problems are. The audiobooks were the Perfect Play by G.S. Carr, the Office Party by Whitney G. and One Beautiful Promise by Layla Hagen, book 4 in Very Irresistible Bachelors series. I don’t remember if I mentioned it before but I have already listened to books 1-3 of the Very Irresistible Bachelors. The series was recommended because I listened to Piper Rayne’s the Bailey Family and Greene Family series. The Perfect Play and the Office Party are novellas, the thing I learned from them is that the pace of the story can be fast and still be satisfying read. It may even be a little more fun with narrators. The next series I will be reading is the Bourbon Brothers series by Reese Ryan. These books are distributed by the romance powerhouse Harlequin Romance. I made a note to look at their website. They may have some helpful articles on romance that may help me.

Now that the holiday has passed. I may be able to get back to some kind of normal writing schedule. I still don’t know the time of day is the most creative for me. The only thing I know is that is has to be quiet or anonymous. This means in the past I could write in a library or café. It also means that at home, I need my family to be asleep or not be home. They say knowing is half the battle and they never say anything about solutions.

This week besides the writing projects and reading lists. I will also be focusing on my health. Health and over all wellness can be neglected while we creative types are crafting our masterpieces. I had 3 major health issues, I needed to address seriously. Then I got Covid. This added to my health issues. One of the many reasons I try to keep a positive mindset. I don’t know if I will write about this later. A note will be made.

I hope that this week is positive and full of opportunity for everyone. If that is not the case, empathy and comfort. Let us all be kind to each other.

Thank you for the likes and follows.   Also, Happy July 4^th. 

I am drinking a margarita, eating jerk chicken or beef kebobs, and Mediterranean salad and thinking this is 100% American.  We barbecued and it was worth it.  We met up with family and we had fun.

Congratulations to everyone who are participating in Camp NaNoWriMo. I will not be participating in this event this month. However I will be cheerleading for everyone who is taking up this month challenge. I have supported by getting a water bottle and pin and in April I got a travel mug. This month for July I will be getting a T-shirt.

This is going to be a shorter entry than usual because of the holiday. I am working on making a Wednesday entry. It may not happen this week but soon I will be posting something for writers for inspirations and fun.

I have read a book series I plan to discuss at a later date. I have watched the New York Times visual investigation of January 6th and OMG. There is should be so many people held accountable for the lack defense. I have never felt for the police like I did on that day of the attack on January 6th. Puts this day July 4th in a different perspective, this could be our last one. Sorry for the downer mood. I will do better next week.

This week the writer’s goals are the same. The reader goals are a little different. I hope we all make it through this week better than we were before.
