Quotes for Writers #99

Hello,

Thank you for the likes and follows. I appreciate them and will do my best to continue with this website and blog.Â
Last week I was able to produce 5000 words. It is not the 8000-word goal, but I am happy with it. I was only able to do maybe 2 things on my goal list. Despite typing this goal or announcement more than once, I have yet to post an essay or review on Wednesday. The reason is basic, I didn’t feel like it. In general, I don’t believe in the muse and I am annoyed with inspiration. I want to create positive writing habits. Octavia E. Butler wrote:
First forget inspiration. Habit is more dependable. Habit will sustain you whether you’re inspired or not. Habit will help you finish and polish your stories. Inspiration won’t. Habit is persistence in practice.
I have used this quote in the past because it true. The desire to create stories is not my problem, writing and sharing them has always been the issue. Knowing that there is someone out there waiting to read my story, the way I tell it, should be motivation enough to get me going. This does not always work. Creating a habit can help with that. As for the Wednesday posts, there is a need for a stockpile. I believed that the essays and reviews on were rushed, they lacked a certain amount of substance. Therefore, the answer is to research reviews, read essays and cultivate the skill. This task to be done well needs more time. I don’t know if any of my readers are waiting for review or slice of life essay. All that can be said is they are under construction.
The goals for this week are similar to last week, so I won’t write them out. The overall goal is to put more effort into accomplishing the tasks set out.  I am wishing everyone a good and productive week.Â
End

Hello everyone,
Thank you for the likes and follows. Last week went faster than I thought. Productivity with writing was so-so. A plan for April was to try to keep up with Camp NaNoWriMo, even though I am not participating in the event. I feel like I am falling behind. However, I choose not to ruminate on mistakes.Â

This week looks promising but doesn’t feel that way. I am hoping that this feeling will change, and I am working towards a better mindset. One of the methods is getting this entry posted. The other method I use is to go through the collection of positive quotes and affirmations. This mood will soon pass and moving forward to accomplish the weekly goals, which are:
1. Complete two or more books on the reading list.
2. Write a review and post it on Wednesday.
3. Reorganize my environment, things have been getting out of hand.
4. 8,000 new words for this week.
5. Look for an efficient way to keep a daily word count.
Many of these goals are re-occurring.  I am sure they have been written before in other words. Posting the goal list, will mean there will be something to write about next week. I will try to talk about something more positive but it has been difficult since last week.
In closing, I hope this short post reaches everyone and encourages all to reach their goals whatever they are with exception of things illegal. Let us all try to be kind to one another.
End
