Hello,
Thank you for the likes and follows.
I write this upfront to let people know that I see and appreciate their response to what I post. Many are for the Quotes for Writers. I may have written this before and I understand. What I find fascinating is that a quote I wrote months ago is read and liked in the present. The notification is sent to me and sometimes it is a quote I needed to read. This happened recently for me when someone liked a QFW #185- A wise person will always find a way. – African Proverb. At the time I was looking for a way to get out of a situation. I can’t go into detail because it involves personal things, I don’t share on this or any platform. These words help me think of the situation from another angle, and I sought advice from a person with more experience. The situation was resolved in the best way possible. I was relieved. That was a top priority of last week. The other thing on the priority list was to post a short essay on Medium.com. I challenged myself to post once a month on that platform on the 21st of every month. I take notes over the weeks, and I try to write content that appeals to readers. But I am getting nothing. It is quite like these updates. I will persist because eventually, something will hit. I am just hoping I can enjoy it. It will truly suck if these rants and random words are only analyzed when 20 years after I’m dead. I want it all, accolades, recognition, constructive criticism, everything that makes me a better storyteller.
I have been listening to and reading 13 Steps to Evil: How to Craft Superbad Villains, written and narrated by Sacha Black. It turns out that she has written a whole series called the Better Writer. I have 3 of them, 10 steps to Hero and 8 steps to side characters. Sacha Black has only made 13 Steps to Evil an audiobook. It is book 2 in the series. I am a little annoyed that she is messing up my set. I chose to listen to/read this book because my antagonist/villains were lacking. I have not completed listening/reading but am making notes.
This week is all about the outline of the Nanowrimo project. I think I wrote previously that this week I would write all about it, postponing that for development. The rest of the week will be about reading, the working titles- Connection Lost and Dark Science Manifesto for starters. One of the things preptober is supposed to do is help writers prepare time to write and live normally. Honestly, don’t know if I did that right or not. I still feel like something is getting neglected.
That is all for now. I hope these words find you doing well. Remember to be kind to each other.
End.
